The candidate Mitt Romney

Their performance questions its built image of great statesman"
México. – The tour of the next applicant to the presidency of The States for the Republican Party, Mitt Romney (MR), by Europe and Middle East has been marked by verbal absurdities, that question “statesman's image” and “international leader” that the own precandidate has looked for to be built in the referred travel, and that they sowed concerns around the look of the foreign policy of an eventual presidency of the former governor from Massachusetts. The problems of Romney began from their step for London, where he criticized the measures of security adopted by the organizers of the Olympic Games that are developed in that capital, what earned him hard critics of authorities and English means, and it evoked the stupidity and the insensibility with which the former president George W. Bush used to even behave in front of their European allies.

Much more serious and worries was the expressions of Romney around the most important regional tensions between Middle East and Israel. Last Sunday 7/29/12), in Jerusalem, the republican presidential applicant referred to that zone -disputed city for Israelis and Palestinian as part of their respective territories - as “the capital of Israel". With such a recognition, the conservative politician passed for high the wide consent of an included community international –The States - that considers Tel Aviv, not to Jerusalem, the capital of the Hebrew State; it raked the fire unnecessarily of one of the most problematic aspects in the confrontation between Israelis and Palestinian, and it showed their scorn to the resolutely ones adopted by the UN around this conflict, those which, among other things, they specify the refund to their legitimate owners of the oriental portion of that city (To the Qods), in the limits that were had before the War of the six days, in 1967.

Iran is a “threat for the world”: MR
The presidential candidate Mit Romney, noticed about “the threat” that a Iran endowed with the nuclear weapon represents, during its interviews (7/29/12), in Jerusalem with the directing Israelis. "As you, we are very concerned for the development of the nuclear capacities of Iran, and we consider unacceptable that Iran becomes in a provided nation of the nuclear weapon", He declared to the press before an encounter with president Shimon Perez. President's Barack Obama MR rival in the elections of next November, talked with the first minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the nuclear program of Iran, accused by Israel and powers of West, in spite of his denied, of wanting to manufacture the nuclear weapon. MR said that it had discussed with the boss of government from Israel on “the additional measures that can be taken to convince Iran that it puts an end to its nuclear madness."

Netanyahu told him that “it was important to have a strong and believable military threat, associated to sanctions, to have a possibility to change the situation". He insisted in that the sanctions and the diplomacy “has not stopped in the most minimum thing the Iranian program". MR has met, also with the first Palestinian minister Salam Fayyad, however it has not ceased of criticizing the “weak and mistaken” politics in Middle East of the current president from The States, he had declared in June that if it is chosen he will make “the opposite” of its political rival. During their visit to Jerusalem presented to the city like “the capital of Israel", although its American embassy as all those of the countries represented in Israel are in Tel Aviv. The declarations of MR are “harmful for the American interests in the region, for the peace, for the security and the stability", the Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat affirmed. To a hundred days of the great electoral appointment in The States, the current president maintains fragile advantage on his republican rival MR.

Political setback in international matter
Apart from this, the former governor from Massachusetts also supported the right from Israel to the self-defense before the “threat of the one it rearms nuclear of Iran", and he affirmed that Washington and Tel Aviv “we serve to the same cause and we have the same enemies". To those declarations they add the asseverations formulated by one of the advisers of Romney that this would support a military aggression of Israel against Iran, in case this last country decides not to break its nuclear program. Such points out brings to the memory inevitably the catastrophic doctrine of the preventive war applied by the previous American government in Iraq and Afghanistan; they pass for high the elementary consideration that the main threat for the peace between East is not Teheran, but Tel Aviv -supported in unequivocal form for Washington and its allies -, and they constitute in themselves a factor of destabilization of the fragile balance in the Arab region.

In sum, the travel undertaken by MR although brief, it allows to be made a precise idea of what could wait to the world in case the republican arrives to the White House in the elections of next November; deeply of the immorality of United States before the conflict Palestinian-Israeli; advance of the warlike postures and of the imperial arrogance that you/they characterize Washington; and increase of the promoted international tensions and favored by that government. Finally, the next elections give the neighboring country of the north they place to the international community in an alternative among the continuity of the deceptive acting of the Obama’s administration as regards foreign policy or the setback at the times of George W. Bush. (La Jornada, politica, p.p. 2-11, July 20, 2012).
