The "big apple" is gotten dressed of green for the traditional parade
México. – This United States day is Irish, celebrates the migration emerald and New York was gotten dressed of green on 17th day of March, since is day of San Patricio and the Empire State is illuminated in green light, while in the streets there are green ties, green vests, green caps, expensive, good nearly all and this includes also Afro-American, Mexican, Italian, Jews, they are of green color. The parade of San Patricio is the largest and ancient of the world (249ª. Issue) advanced by the fifth avenue, where contingent of union leaders, firemen, students, soldiers, dancing, musicians, master, Irish associations, immigrants new and old happened to the drums compass, bagpipes and accompanied flutes of "personalities" to happen as compared to the cathedral of New York, call in honor of San Patricio. In bulk arrived of the island of Ireland thousands of immigrants seeking the land dreamt to mid of the century XIX but they were subject to discrimination, humiliation and development, and as the Mexicans were associated in large movements fighting for the equality, the fraternity, and the freedom of the civil rights. This day the New York Times with large entitle in Spanish made to emphasize the name of "San Patricio", perhaps dialing the day of the Irish with reference to the Mexicans. Within in their pages we read, "That never is forgotten us to where we originated. Nearly all we were sometime Mexican. We were the immigrants, poor, denigrated, impelled by the hunger and the hope to the prickly United States embrace".This strange recollection of Irish and Mexican united commemorates the history of the Battalion of San Patricio in the war against Mexico. The official celebration recalls to the heirs of the great literary Irish: George Bernard Shaw, James Joyce and Oscar Wilde that they contributed to convert to this country into a cultural capital. We recall to some artists; James Cagney and Jennifer Connelly, as the great playwright Eugene O'Neill, and the teachers of the journalism Jimmy Breslin and Pete Hamill. Without forgetting to social strivers as: Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, anarchistic occupational leader, one of the founders of the American Union of Civil Freedoms (AUCF), and after directing of the Communist Party. (La Jornada, March 18, 2010)Criminalization of the migrationThe population bleeding of our country seems not to have end since thousands of Mexicans continue opting for migrating to the neighboring country in spite of the high price that are seen obligated to pay. During 2009 in average thousand 465 Mexican abandoned Mexico daily, that is to say 535 thousand during all year round past. This figure reached Mexicans average that abandoned the country during the federal administration of Vicente Fox. The age average of our migrant is going of 20 to 30 years, but also is presented an increase in the greater migrants of 40 years. For this last social group results complicated to obtain work by the discrimination in the country. Attending to The statistics of the Organization for the Development and the Economic Cooperation (OECD) the unemployment will maintain its trend to the increase and "will stay in a high level around the end of 2011", growing mainly the juvenile unemployment. The previous data induce us to wait that the number of Mexicans is increased. The fright of the economic crisis already happened, and the migrants continue seeing the "jump" from the wall as the better option to accede to a better future to which this country can offer to them. The criminalization is other the face that the government of The States, through first California, and now Arizona by means of the Law SB1070, at state level to all undocumented and permits the local policeman to stop to all person that the officers consider suspicious of not to have "papers"; with this, the policeman will be able to interrogate to all the persons that according to the criterion of the authority "seem" illegal. Ironically as opposed to the Cuban migrants that they are found with status of refugees, helped and protected by the American laws the Mexicans have character of criminals and as such they are handled. In 2005, 2007 two laws criminalization the traffic of persons and were forbidding the contracting of undocumented. While in Mexico the people follows without finding the minimal conditions to live with dignity will continue deciding migrate to the neighboring country, they are treated without dignity, their taxes are held by the neighboring country and they do not enjoy the social security, they are underpaid, exhaustive sessions of more than 10 daily hours. Simple would be if the Mexican federal government let of buying bonds of the American Treasure. (La Jornada, politica, p. 6, April 23, 2010)
